About
Juliana Pickering Dahl was raised in the mountains and plains of Wyoming and Colorado where she developed a passion for art at a young age. Growing up, she spent hours drawing, painting, and sculpting with any materials she could get her hands on. However, it wasn't until her early forties that she discovered her love for ceramics.
With no formal training in ceramics, Juliana began experimenting with clay on her own. She spent countless hours studying different techniques and processes, and through trial and error, she eventually developed her own unique style. Despite the challenges of being self-taught, she persisted, driven by her love for the craft.
Over time, Juliana's work gained recognition in her local community, and she began receiving requests for commissions. She quickly gained a reputation for her attention to detail, intricate designs, and ability to bring her subjects to life in clay. Her work often features animals, nature, and the human form, each piece imbued with a sense of personality and emotion. Her functional ware also reflects natural elements of the American West.
She has a deep love for all living things and especially enjoys
exploring the connections between animals and the beings and environs around them. Each work of art embodies a sense of compassion and empathy, both towards those close to them and towards the natural world.
